A FURTHER £250,000 is to be handed out to victims of the July floods in Oxfordshire.
The money has been allocated out of the British Red Cross National Floods Appeal, which so far has brought in more than £3.7m in donations.
It is being distributed via local councils and intended for the most vulnerable, particularly the elderly, disabled or people on low incomes or state benefits and lone parents.
To qualify they will have to demonstrate they fall into the vulnerable categories and specify what they lost in the floods.
A distribution board has been set up and in Oxfordshire it is being managed by the Oxfordshire Community Foundation.
Spokesman Barry Tanswell said they would be sending out application forms to all those who applied for hardship funding under the separate Government scheme - under which £965,000 was allocated to councils in Oxfordshire.
Mr Tanswell added: "However, anyone who has suffered because of flooding can apply, irrespective of whether they have claimed before."
Application forms are available from Oxford City Council and the county's other district councils.
- The Gannett Foundation, the charitable arm of Gannett, the parent company of The Oxford Times, donated £10,000 to the Red Cross appeal.
