There was a smaller rise in new coronavirus cases across Oxford announced today but the city's weekly infection rate is continuing to climb.

According to Public Health England, as of 9am on Sunday, these are the number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours;
- Oxford - 9
- Oxfordshire - 32
- UK - 12,872
The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started;
- Oxford - 1,540
- Oxfordshire - 4,774
- UK - 603,716
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
Cases have been high enough in the city and in other parts of the county that Oxfordshire as a whole is at the highest alert level.
Oxford's most recent rolling seven-day rate of new cases of Covid-19 to October 8, 126.6 based on 193 positive tests.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
At the same time a week ago the rate was 108.2 from 165 positive tests.
Though the rate is climbing, Oxford, which is the worst impacted part of the county, still ranks far below the top in England.
Nottingham currently has the highest rate at 830 from 2,763 new cases in a week.
