CASES of coronavirus in Oxfordshire have gone up by more than 60 in 24 hours.
The weekly rolling infection rate for Oxford has also soared following positive tests missed due to a Public Health England IT error being included.
Oxford now has an infection rate of 99 cases per 100,000 people based on 151 cases in the seven days to Friday.
This is almost double the rate of 53.1 from 81 cases the week prior, which already passed the 50 cases per 100,000 people required to put the city on 'red alert'.
According to Public Health England, as of 9am, these are the number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours;
- Oxford - 22
- Oxfordshire - 63
- UK - 12,594
The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started;
- Oxford - 1,365
- Oxfordshire - 4,319
- UK - 515,571
These figures are cumulative and include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
A further 19 people were also announced to have died within 28 days of a had a positive test result.

It takes the confirmed UK death toll to 42,369. Across the South East, 19 people with the virus were admitted to hospital.
It takes the total to 115, of which eight are in serious enough condition to need be on a ventilator.
Globally, there have been more than 35 million confirmed Covid cases, with a death toll of more than one million.
