WARNINGS have been issued to Virgin Media customers after people in Oxfordshire were cold-called by dangerous scammers.
A number of users complained of receiving 'numerous calls every day' from fraudsters claiming to be from the broadband company.
The fake callers claim to be contacting the victim because there is an issue with their internet, requesting accounts and bank details.
People who were targeted by the criminals took to social media to warn others and share useful tips in light of the latest scam.

One Abingdon resident Tracy Thomas revealed that she was almost scammed out of £2,000.
Ms Thomas explained: "The same thing happened to me but from Sky.
"I got scammed out of £2,000 after they pulled all details from my laptop but luckily was quick enough to realise what was happening and called the bank and got money back."
Facebook user Annette Woods commented she never picks up on unknown numbers, while Sharleen McLernan urged people to report the numbers to their broadband provider.
Some people explained they have even gone to the lengths of disconnecting their landline because of the number of fake calls they used to received.
Advice on Virgin Media's website read: "These calls may be a type of scam called Vishing – where a caller will try to trick someone into providing financial and private information or access to a computer system, for potential identity theft."
