DESPERATE attempts to track down a BMW owner led to ‘true community spirit’.
Sam Robbins shared a photo of the silver car trapped on a flooded road on the Bicester Chat Facebook Page last night – asking people if they knew who the owner was.
He said had tried to use his truck and two tow ropes to move the empty car to a dry road and save it getting more damaged.

Within 15 minutes the post had been shared 40 times and the owners were tracked down before 8pm.
But in a cruel twist of events the automatic car couldn’t be moved right away because it was stuck in park mode.
Mr Robbins commented: “Thanks for the shares shame I couldn’t get it out.”
The owner Sims Sach said: “Feels so good to be part of a community who comes together to help total strangers and I think that is what true community spirit is.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“This will eventually get sorted but the feelings that this has brought will be carried forward as stories for my children to continue to help and be kind.”
Hours later at 10pm another driver, who offered to pull the car to rescue, said it was ‘out of the water’ and the road was clear again.
It is not known if the car is still working.
