VOLUNTEERS at a baby bank are ‘drowning in tampons’ after moving out of their temporary bases.
Witney Baby Bank volunteers have starting keeping stock in their own homes after leaving community spaces they used in lockdown.
Councillor Rosa Bolger, who founded the initiative, said: “We have been so fortunate to have the support of the local community and especially Cogges Parish which gave us a home.
“However, now everything has begun to reopen, these temporary spaces are being used by other community groups again.

“The baby bank has been operating mostly out of our mayor’s sitting room but we really need to find a longer term home.
“Initially, we believed the services of the baby bank would help see families through the pandemic, but it is very clear that the need is not a short-term one, as families continue to struggle.”
Witney mayor Joy Aitman added: “Witney baby bank has been invaluable in helping families in need during Covid-19.
“Nappies, wipes and baby formula can be an expensive item on your shopping list when you are coping with furlough, redundancy or changes in your benefits.”
