Reading your article about cancer victim Stephen Dallison (Oxford Mail, November 17), I see that Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust has so far failed to relent on its decision not to allow him to have the drug Sumitinib which may cure him or at least extend his life.
To spend £11m on management costs and refuse £5,000 for three months' treatment is absolutely disgraceful.
How many managers are there? Are they all necessary? And how much do they get paid to play God with people's lives?
We have six MPs in Oxfordshire. Are they aware of Mr Dallison's case?
If they are aware, why can't they bring pressure on the PCT?
I assume they might read the Oxford Mail as they are often in it, and they are elected to serve their constituents.
I realise that Mr Dallison is in East Oxford, which is Andrew Smith's ward, but the PCT covers those of Messrs Cameron, Harris, Vaizey, Johnson and Baldry.
So I appeal to them all to put an end to this postcode lottery and sort this case out quickly.
Time is important to this young man. How would they feel if it were someone close to them?
