POLICE stepped up patrols of South Park last night following reports of Oxford Brookes University students partying.
Residents had complained of gatherings of up to 20 people over the previous four nights in the East Oxford park.
Thames Valley Police officers were stationed in the area yesterday evening to enforce the 'rule of six' law, which limits the number of people allowed to attend social gatherings to half a dozen.

The force said yesterday that it was 'aware of a number of concerns amongst the local community around people gathering in large numbers' in East Oxford.
The post on the TVP Oxford Facebook page added: "It is important that large gatherings are reported to us online via our website or by calling 101.
"We have dedicated resources in place to respond to breaches of this nature and your information allows us to continue to patrol in the areas most affected.
"Officers will take enforcement action if necessary where there is evidence of people who disregard the rules and present a risk to the wider public.
"We continue to work in partnership with the universities and Oxford City Council to encourage compliance, protect you and keep our communities safe."
