A FORMER Olympic athlete hosted a virtual awards ceremony, which celebrated trainees and apprentices.
Colin Jackson hosted Abingdon-based Qube Learning’s annual ceremony through its YouTube channel on Wednesday evening.
Mr Jackson said: “It was such an honour to hand out the awards to such inspiring individuals.
“They have shown motivation and drive, and really deserve the honours.

“With so many incredible stories on the night, I really do champion traineeships and apprenticeships as a credible and rewarding route in further education, in a less conventional way.
“The programmes help create opportunities that carve out positive futures for people that never thought it possible.
“Dreams really can become reality with the right guidance and mentoring, and Qube Learning certainly cares for its students and the employers who employ them.”
Qube Learning chief executive Joe Crossley added: “We come across so many exceptional people who have shown great determination to get where they are today, and that is why we hold this event every year.”
