POLICE, fire and ambulance were called to the A40 between the A418 and the Headington roundabout at 1.30pm today to an ambulance on fire.
It was a private ambulance from outside Oxfordshire transporting a patient and it is not known how the vehicle caught fire. There was no collision prior to the blaze.
The patient was transferred to an NHS ambulance and was being checked over, along with crew from the private ambulance.
No one was thought to be seriously injured and no one was trapped in the vehicle.
