The armed response unit from Thames Valley Police checked the state of the ammunition after firefighters hosed the flames down and gave it the 'all clear'.
Photos from the scene of the blaze show the front of the truck completely destroyed from the flames.
Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service confirmed the ammunition was carried legally and that the fire was accidental caused by an electrical defect.
