A woman from Oxfordshire has been killed in a multi-vehicle pile-up on the M40.
Five cars, an articulated lorry and heavy goods vehicle were involved in the crash on a stretch of the motorway in Buckinghamshire at about 6.50am yesterday.
A 39-year-old Oxfordshire woman received severe head injuries and airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where she later died.
Others involved in the incident received minor injuries and were treated at local hospitals.
Police are refusing to reveal where the woman is from in Oxfordshire and no formal identification has taken place.
