Firefighters were called to a blaze at a flat in Wantage's Market Place this afternoon.
Two fire crews from Didcot and one from Wantage fought the blaze after receiving the emergency call at 1.15pm.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said bedding was on fire in a first-floor bedroom in the two-storey brick building.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
Investigations are being carried out to establish what caused the blaze.
