Residents at a new Cheshire Home are relaxing with equipment bought using a grant from the Gannett Foundation, the charitable trust run by the Oxford Mail's parent company, Gannett.
The foundation, has given £6,000 to Leonard Cheshire Disability so that managers and residents who moved into the new home in Warwick Road, Banbury, earlier this month can buy furniture and other items.
Already, state-of-the-art televisions have been purchased, and the home has a shopping list that includes music systems for the communal rooms, and cabinets and storage units for the bedrooms.
Maurice O'Connor, the appeal's capital fundraiser, said: "The money is providing things that turn a house into a home.
"Banbury has been very generous in responding to this appeal, and we have many people to thank for contributions large and small."
Francois Gallais, the charity's regional fundraiser, said: "Gannett's generous award is allowing us to buy a wide range of equipment. The items we need will put the finishing touches to the building.
"Residents moved in two weeks ago, leaving their old home in Adderbury, but there are still things that need to be done. The £6,000 is a most welcome amount."
