Residents in Bampton helped police to capture a suspected burglar.
Officers were called to Outwear, in Bridge Street, at about 1.25am last Friday, police said today.
They arrested a 27-year-old man at the scene and recovered stolen property from a Rover 200 car.
The man was later released on bail until January.
Pc Wayne Harvey said: "We have local residents to thank for their help in calling when they saw this burglary take place.
"We have arrested a man, but we are still looking for witnesses to this crime. Were you in the Bridge Street area last Thursday night and Friday morning? Did you see this burglary take place or anything suspicious, including this white Rover?"
Anyone with information should call Pc Harvey on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
