CLIMATE activists gave away homegrown fruit and veg at a market over the bank holiday weekend.
Local Extinction Rebellion members hosted the market stall in the centre of Abingdon to exchange fresh food and cut out waste.
A spokesperson for the group revealed they wanted to raise awareness the ‘very real possibility of food insecurity’ in a 'climate emergency'.
Campaigners used the fresh food to initiate conversations with the general public during the action on Sunday.

Sue Davies, a member of Extinction Rebellion Abingdon, explained the idea behind the event: “We are in a climate and ecological crisis.
“The Government has announced a climate emergency, but they have not done anything about it.
“There is so much that could be done to create a green economy and green jobs in order to reduce our carbon footprint and limit global warming.
