A BEAUTY salon owner watched in shock as a trailer-load of hay ploughed into her home.
Wheatley villager Trudi Hill, who runs the hairdressers About Face from her home address in Church Road, was walking back to her house on Sunday when she saw a ‘humongous tractor’ transporting stacks of hay on a trailer.
The hairdresser said: “To my horror the vehicle hooked up on my wall, then onto my house.
“The tractor pushed in the wall and took off half of the tiles on my roof.
“The driver apparently could not see or hear what damage he had done.
“I saw that his boss, who had been standing in front of the tractor, was directing him down the very narrow road.”
Ms Hill said that just before the beginning of lockdown in March she had completed maintenance work to the front of her home which now accommodated her business.
She added: “I am extremely upset.
“I have moved my salon into the newly-built part of the premises, so thankfully I am able to continue working.

“However, after what happened, I am trying to change the weight limit for the narrow road to stop such incidents from happening again.”
