TWO helpless dogs were found covered in poo and urine after police officers went to check if they were okay.
The hungry pups also had infected sores from where they had been left to suffer.
PSCO Clare Atkins and Sue Haynes found them at a house in Abingdon after worried neighbours called the police.
The dogs were rescued and taken back to Abingdon Police Station where they were handed over to the RSPCA.
Now, officers from Thames Valley Police have said on Facebook that the animal charity is investigating the owners for ‘causing unnecessary suffering’.

On Wednesday TVP South Oxon and Vale of White Horse shared photos of the black and sandy coloured pets saying: “The owner is due to be interviewed later today.
"The dogs were very happy to be fed, watered, walked & to be shown some affection."
