Police raided a suspected brothel in a wealthy suburb of Oxford today after complaints from neighbours.
Officers smashed in a door to the three-bedroom house, in Middle Way, Summertown, at about 1.45pm.
Three women, believed by police to be prostitutes, found inside the house were questioned over suspected human trafficking but were released without charge.
A fourth woman was arrested on suspicion of running a brothel and is currently in custody.
Sgt Karl Ralph said police had received numerous complaints from neighbours and residents, including parking problems and noise, which had worsened in recent weeks.
One neighbour was recently assaulted, which may be connected to the premises, Sgt Ralph added.
No people-trafficking offences were believed to have been committed, he said.
A middle-aged man who was in the property when the police forced their way inside was interviewed and released without charge.
Sgt Ralph is appealing for anyone with complaints or information about the house to call him on 08458 505505.
