BUS passengers have been reminded that moves to pedestrianise a street so restaurants can have outdoor seating has meant city centre bus stops have been temporarily moved.
George Street has been closed to all traffic so restaurants can place tables outside, adding to the number of customers they are able to serve while social distancing remains in place.
But the street is usually served by several major bus routes through Oxford.

To make up for the closed road, two bus stops have been given ‘revised positions’ throughout August and into September.
During the closure period from Saturday, August 22 to Sunday, September 20, buses that usually run along George Street will be diverted either via Beaumont Street or into Gloucester Green bus station.
All of the bus stops usually George Street will be out of use including the pair outside Gloucester Green, which are closed despite being outside the area of the road which is pedestrianised.

Different bus routes have been diverted in different ways, but instead of using stops on George Street, new temporary stops on Beaumont Street will be used, or existing stops on Magdalen Street or in Gloucester Green.

Temporary bus stops with services noted are to be revised as follows:
- 7, S3 to Woodstock – from Magdalen Street C4 (not Gloucester Green)
- 14/14A and ST2 to the Hospital – from Beaumont Street U1 (outside The Ashmolean)
- 300 towards Pear Tree – from Magdalen Street C2
- 300 towards Redbridge – from Beaumont Street U2 (outside The Playhouse)
- 500 towards Woodstock – from Magdalen Street C2
- S1 towards Carterton – from Gloucester Green bay 8
- S2 towards Carterton – from Magdalen Street C4 (not Gloucester Green)
- ST2 to Wytham – from Beaumont Street U2 (outside The Playhouse)
- Buses to Oxford railway station will depart from Beaumont Street U2 (outside The Playhouse).
These temporary stops will be removed once the George Street closure ends in late September. The diversions will be in place 24/7, so even when the road is open in the early morning and late evening, buses will remain on diversion.
