TWO people have been charged and two others arrested in connection with burglaries in north and west Oxfordshire.

Police said three people were arrested shortly after an attempted burglary in Park Close, Kirtlington, which took place around 11.45am on Friday.

One 18-year-old man has been charged with this offence, and a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old woman released on bail pending furtherienquiries.

At the time of their arrest, police said stolen property was recovered from a vehicle, which had been stolen during a burglary in Stonefield Lane, Charlbury, on Monday, November 19, between 11am and 1.45pm.

This lead to a 19-year-old man being charged with handling stolen goods in relation to this offence.

Det Sgt Matthew Bick said: "This was a joint investigation between Cherwell and West Oxfordshire police teams. It has not only led to a number of charges and arrests, but also to the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property."
