Hundreds of residents took to social media last night to speculate after hearing 'loud hovering' and seeing flashing blue lights 'everywhere'.
Writing on the Spotted: Didcot page, one person said they had ‘no idea’ what was going on, but added: “It’s drowning out the TV it’s so low and loud.”
Another person said: “They are out by the shops at Abbott Road, I live in one of the flats and loads of police.”
One eye-witness recalled seeing five police cars at the row of shops as well as six officers on foot 'barrelling down an alleyway' and a helicopter in the sky.
