Sir - Should not your photographer (Report, November 23) have encouraged the youngsters to stand and place their floral tributes on the pavement side of the railings at the busy crossing on Ducklington Lane, Witney?
It seems rather foolhardy and irresponsible to encourage them to stand in the road, in the traffic, on the spot where a few days previous their friend Andrew Edwards was killed.
The photograph clearly shows how busy this crossing is with the traffic very close in the background. I sincerely hope that a valid risk assessment was carried out before placing the youngsters in such danger. Perhaps such circumstances could be given consideration in future.
K. Quarterman, Witney
