Sir - Let us hope that the university, having already lost much time in pursuing their ill-advised plans for the Bodleian's book depository on Osney Mead, will now redouble their efforts to find an alternative site, rather than, in the face of so much opposition, waste further time and money on an appeal which may well prove unsuccessful as well as unpopular. May I repeat the call for the city and county authorities, the colleges and other landowners to co-operate with the university in finding an acceptable alternative location for this important project?
