LEADERS at an Oxford secondary school celebrated a huge upturn in results as almost a quarter of students achieved A*-A, compared to none last year.
The Oxford Academy in Littlemore was also rated inadequate by Ofsted in January.
That saw a special team of experienced education professionals drafted in to oversee the school.

An ‘interim academy board’ was put in place and the improvements were clear for all on results day.
Results showed eight per cent of grades were A*, up from zero per cent last year, while 24 per cent of grades were A* or A, again up from zero per cent.
One of the school’s star performers was Morgan Waite, who achieved A*s in biology, chemistry and maths.
He will now study medicine at Hull York Medical School.

Tony Wilson, chair of the interim academy board, said: “We are delighted with this excellent set of results from our students. They have faced major challenges and we are very proud of them.
“The results are principally a reflection of the incredible work done by these talented students, supported by outstanding teachers, but they are also an indication that The Oxford Academy is a place where young people are able to achieve great things.
“These results are a sign that we are very quickly moving in the right direction.”
