Pictures show the vile ‘crime scene’ of dogs and birds trapped in cages and others without water and walking in a ‘five-inch layer’ of animal mess on the floor.
Emma Maliska called the police after noticing nobody had been at the house in ‘a while’, loud barking had ‘slowed down’ and all the windows were closed despite temperatures soaring into the 30s.
Simultaneously she broke into the property in a desperate bid to save the pets.
Thames Valley Police said officers had arrived at 10pm after the discovery of a ‘large number of animals inside’ but the RSPCA had taken over the investigation.
Now speaking for the first time since the ‘traumatic and scarring’ events, the animal charity has said: “Unfortunately we are unable to discuss complaints about specific individuals. We understand how frustrating that is for animal lovers but releasing information could prejudice a future investigation or could lead us to being fined.
“We are so grateful to people who report suspected animal suffering to us and we would like to reassure people we will always look into and, if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare.”
