A PENSIONER who was arrested after a hit and run has been released under investigation.
A cyclist was left fighting for his life after being hit by a car on the A417 at Ardington near Wantage at 8.45am on Sunday.
An air ambulance, rapid response car and land ambulance were all sent to the crash and the 38-year-old cyclist was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital.

At the time police officers closed the roads and said they were looking for a silver hatchback car that had ‘visible’ damage to the windscreen.
That evening, a 74-year-old man, from Wantage, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop following a collision.

In a renewed appeal for witnesses, PC Phil Hanham, of the roads policing unit, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was driving on the A417 between Wantage and the railway station in Didcot between 8.15am and 9.30am [on Sunday].”
Anybody with dash-cam footage should call police on 101 quoting 394 2/8.
