AN AIR ambulance, land ambulances and police cars swarmed a barn in a farmer's field in Southern Oxfordshire after a 'serious medical emergency' this morning.
They refused to divulge any more details.
But now Thames Valley Police has said the call came in at 11.30am of a 58-year-old woman having a cardiac arrest.
She died this afternoon and her next of kin have been told.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
The barn is in the middle of a field just north of the A417 in East Hendred, behind a new housing development.
One resident of the new estate, who asked not to be named, said that there is one large, locked barn in the centre of the field, and one open-sided barn used to store hay.
Earlier photographs and videos from the scene showed the air ambulance landing in the field, which is just north of the A417 in East Henred, behind a housing development.
