At the time police cordoned off the area and residents were told to stay in their homes.
Firefighters from Thame Fire Station said they attended a crash on Chinnor Road the same night and eyewitnesses said they saw a car on its roof.
A post-mortem examination has since revealed that Mr Harling died of a single stab wound.
Braim spoke only to confirm his name at a brief hearing held at Oxford Crown Court this afternoon.
At the hearing presiding Judge Ian Pringle QC agreed a trial date for the case.

That trial will be held at the same court on January 4 2021 and is expected to last up to two weeks.
No formal plea has yet been entered and a further hearing was also scheduled for the defendant to deny or accept his guilt.
That plea hearing will take place at the same court on October 23.
Braim was remanded in custody in the meantime.
A 15-year-old boy and two 19-year-old men who were questioned in connection have all been released on bail.
