Section 1 side Catherine Wheel won all three pairs games to pull off a shock 5-4 win at Premier team Shears.
Going into the pairs, Shears led 4-2 with Kevin Barefoot, Kevin Wilkins and Jim Pryde among their winners.
But Catherine Wheel, whose singles successes came from Roger Cotterell and Terry Sapey, dominated the pairs to snatch victory.
In Section 2, Lord Nuffield Social Club A ran out 7-2 winners at Three Horseshoes.
Alan Hunter and Martin Andrews gave Lord Nuffield a 2-0 lead.
Three Horseshoes pulled one back when Dave Butler beat Chris Myers.
But Lord Nuffield powered on and wins from Dennis Moss, James Harding (180) and Dylan Davies put them 5-1 ahead, before they took the pairs 2-1 to seal victory.
In Section 3, The Crown, Chalgrove took the pairs 2-1 to win 5-4 at Prince of Wales A.
Steve James and Tony Sawyer were among Marsh Harrier's winners in their 6-3 victory over Nuffield Lounge in Section 4.
In Section 5, Railway Social Club D battled to a 5-4 home win over Fox Inn.
opened the scoring against the visiting Fox Inn when A Barrett beat Edward Greenaway.
Fox hit back to lead 2-1 with wins from Jim Battle and B Spacey.
The home side levelled at 2-2 when young T Tricker defeated veteran Sid Welsh.
The visitors led 3-2 when S Hutton beat Nick Nash.
The home side again levelled after Simon Tricker beat Bob Felix and a 2-1 pairs win gave The Railway a fighting 5-4 win.
