My family is one of the millions whose personal information has been lost by the HM Revenue and Customs.
Like thousands of others in the Oxford area, I have been put at risk of theft from criminals who could make use of this data to empty my bank account.
All this is bad enough, but soon the Government aims to force us all to give many more details about ourselves, to be stored on its National Identity Register as part of the ID card scheme.
In Oxford, an interrogation centre is due to open in Botley Road for the purpose of gathering this information. How can we trust Government officials to keep our personal details safe?
I do not trust them and I shall refuse to provide personal information that will be stored on the National Identity Register.
