A NEW Tesco Express is opening in Botley this week with a bakery, Costa machine and an ATM.
The new store at 19 West Way Square will open on Friday and will open daily from 6am-11pm. It will be kitted out with hand sanitiser and floor markings to help customers maintain a safe distance.
Grant Edney, store manager at Botley Express, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to our new Tesco Express store in Botley, which will open on 24th July.

"We will play our part in serving the local community by providing fresh, healthy and affordable food, service and convenience as well as offering a host of benefits including our community programmes.”
The store will be part of Tesco’s surplus food scheme, Community Food Connection, which is run in partnership with FareShare.
Under the scheme all Tesco stores donate unsold food at the end of each day to charity and community groups. The food surplus scheme supports groups including children’s breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs and groups working with homeless people.
The new Tesco Express will also be part of the supermarket's popular Bags of Help scheme, which is operated with the charity Groundwork. To date Tesco has awarded grants of more than £80million to over 27,000 groups across the UK through this scheme.
