A debate on immigration in Deddington on Sunday will discuss the subject from a Christian viewpoint.
The debate will ask the question 'Is it unChristian to seek to limit immigration?' The speakers will be Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch UK, and a diplomat for 35 years; the Rev Dr Nicholas Sagovsky, Canon Theologian at Westminster Abbey; and Nick Spencer, director of studies at Theos, a public theology think tank.
The Rev Hugh White, vicar of Deddington, said: "Arguments over population and economics has dominated the public debate on immigration, while the underlying ethical issues have been insufficiently examined."
Chairing the debate, in St Peter and St Paul Church at 3.30pm, will be Canon Brian Mountford, the vicar of the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, Oxford.
