THOUSANDS of Oxford United fans will rue not being able to attend the Sky Bet League One play-offs and one supporter is extra keen to be back on the terraces.
Tony Scott, from Bampton in west Oxfordshire, followed the U’s home and away with wife Jenny until he started treatment for throat and neck cancer in January.

The 68-year-old’s last match was the 3-1 home defeat to Rotherham that month, but with treatment going well he is already excited for his first game back.
Like all United fans, Mr Scott will watch tonight’s clash with Portsmouth on television and he hopes the next match he goes to will be in the Championship.

He said: “I hope that when the season starts we can go again, health permitting.
“We’re looking forward to getting to away games sometime, but more importantly to retaking our seats in the South Stand Lower.”
