A THIEF has been banned from two shops in the Westgate Centre for six months after stealing more than £1,000 worth of booze and perfume.
Elvis Anthony Springer, 56, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted going on a crime spree around John Lewis and Sainsbury’s in January and February this year.

He admitted to taking:
- £301 worth of perfume from John Lewis on January 5
- £630 worth of perfume from John Lewis on January 7
- £89.50 worth of perfume from John Lewis on January 16
- £189.50 worth of perfume from John Lewis on January 17 and later that day £105 worth of perfume again
- £35 worth of alcohol from Sainsbury’s on January 27
- £30 worth of alcohol from Sainsbury’s on February 21
Totaling to £1,380.
At Oxford Magistrates Court on March 10 he was ordered to pay back £135 in compensation.
He has also been banned from walking into John Lewis or Sainsbury’s for six months.
