AN APPEAL for people to support their local food bank has been put out by MP Layla Moran after she visited one in Kidlington.
The Oxford West and Abingdon representative visited the North Oxfordshire Community Foodbank in on Friday, where she helped the BAPS Swaminarayan Oxford Hindu community group unload food deliveries and donations and prepare them for being delivered to those in need.
The Lib Dem said: “I’m calling on everyone around Kidlington to support their local food bank if they can. On my visit last week, it was clear that more food donations are needed to help all those in need.

“BAPS Swaminarayan Oxford and the Hindu community have shown an incredible generosity of spirit, time and resources during this pandemic, and it was my pleasure to help them at the food bank on Friday.”
Shefali Patel, a lead volunteer for BAPS Swaminarayan Oxford said: “The pandemic has brought many challenges, but as reality dictates, there are many families who will have less or no food at this time of the year. We hope the generosity of the local Hindu community will provide some support and comfort to those who are experiencing financial hardship. We are not out of the woods yet and pledge everyone to support their local food bank."
