An Oxfordshire county councillor has been found guilty of cheating the benefit system.
Olive McIntosh-Stedman, 65, was convicted this morning by a jury at Oxford Crown Court on one charge of dishonestly making a false statement to obtain benefit.
However she was found not guilty on a second count.
The jury has been told McIntosh-Stedman, county councillor for Littlemore and Cowley, was overpaid £3,000 in council tax benefit she was not entitled to.
She was receiving a £500 member's allowance and also an NHS pension.
But McIntosh-Stedman told the jury she forgot to include that income in her claim.
She has since paid all the money back.
McIntosh-Stedman will be sentenced on December 20
