A man who robbed another man of a mobile phone and wallet has been jailed for a year.
Oxford Crown Court heard that Michael Hirabe, 20, of no fixed address, ripped a pocket from a jacket being worn by Christopher Searle to take the items, which Mr Searle was holding for a friend.
The incident happened at about 9.30pm on June 1 last year, when Mr Searle was walking down Magdalen Road in East Oxford.
Hirabe, who admitted robbery, also asked for the theft of a handbag in the Park End club, Park End Street, on November 4 last year to be taken into account.
