Pickpockets have been targeting shoppers, particularly elderly and vulnerable women, in Didcot town centre.
In the latest spate, at least six purses were snatched in Broadway and the Orchard Centre as well as Cockroft Road, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Wilkinson in Market Place.
Police believe a black male, with a bald head, and a white male, both in their mid 20s, are operating as a team to target shoppers. Officers are urging people to be aware of their bags and purses at all times.
Crime reduction officer Mark Bradfield, said: "We are urging people to contact us as soon as they know their purse has been stolen so we can examine CCTV footage straight away.
He said shoppers could take precautionary measures to deter thieves.
"If you can carry your purse on your person rather than in a handbag that is better, because you are more likely to feel someone trying to remove it. If you keep it in your handbag, keep it closed and in front of you.
"Anyone who discovers their purse has been stolen should cancel credit and debit cards immediately and contact police."
Police can be contacted on 08458 505505.
