FIREFIGHTERS from three counties worked overnight to tackle a major blaze that engulfed a thatched cottage in a small Oxfordshire village yesterday.
Six fire engines and specialist units arrived at the scene of the incident on Millers Lane in Hornton village, located three miles from Banbury, where heavy smoke could be seen.

The crews from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services were faced with a severe fire in the thatched cottage and worked around-the clock to prevent the flames spreading to neighbouring homes.
They remaine on the scene today.
