A former Oxfordshire headteacher has been chosen to lead Peers School at Littlemore, Oxford, in the months leading up to its switch to an Academy.
Ed McConnell, the former head of The Marlborough School in Woodstock, will take over from Lorna Caldicott in January.
Ms Caldicott resigned from her post after being appointed principal at an academy in Milton Keynes.
Mr McConnell will lead the school until the opening of The Oxford Academy in September 2008, and will then hand over to principal Mike Reading.
