BURGLARS smashed the front doors of Oxford's Sushi Mania before stealing money and wine from inside.
Pictures, taken by an Oxford Mail reporter who alerted the police first, show the door onto Park End Street completely shattered.
The pictures were taken at 11am but police say it could have happened during the night.
Inside the lights were completely off and there was no alarm sounding.
The owner also called the police at 11.30am this morning.
In an appeal for witnesses, a force spokesperson said that a 31-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage and is currently being questioned in custody.
A sign on the door says the restaurant is open for take-aways.
