A pensioner who died in a car crash has a permanent memorial, at Witney's Windrush Leisure Centre.
Friends of Sidney Allen, a former gunner in Wellington bombers in the Second World War, unveiled a seat in his memory outside the entrance.
Mr Allen, who was 82, was killed when his car swerved across the road on the A40 near Burford into the path of a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction last December. Both he and the other driver, bank consultant James Martin, 62, from Monmouth, died.
Friends in the Windrush Valley Collectors Society helped pay for the memorial seat. Society chairman Phil Haynes said: "We are remembering him, not for a couple of seconds leading to a fatal accident, but for everything else. He was a first class chap and had been a keen member of the society for about 20 years."
The seat is outside the leisure centre because Mr Allen was a member of the Witney Swimming Club and swam nearly every day.
