A SERIES of laybys on the A40 are due to be closed because of what Oxfordshire County Council called "antisocial behaviour" and "inappropriate" parking.
The council last week launched a public consultation ahead of the proposal which would shut the laybys on either side of the carriageway at Forest Hill.
If approved, the rest areas would be removed altogether and vehicle access would be closed.
Laybys in the area have previously been the cause of complaints over indecent and lewd activity, though the council did not specify the nature of the latest antisocial behaviour. It said the proposals were being put forward "due to inappropriate parking and associated anti-social behaviour."
The location of the laybys affected is near to the junction of Church Hill.

Objections to the plans and other representations will be received until June 5.
