A SECOND World War veteran who was part of an elite military unit has been sharing his memories in the run up to VE Day.
David Stonehill, who served in the Fourth Division of the Parachute Regiment, is now a resident at Kirlena House Care Home in Kennington.
After the war, he moved into the Royal Engineers, based on Salisbury Plain, and was promoted to sergeant.

Manager Magdalena Liskiewicz said: "It is amazing to hear him share the numerous emotional stories with other residents and staff."
She added: "Many residents fought and lived through World War II: sharing war time memories and reminiscing.
"Ironically there are some stark similarities between our current lock down crisis and the sacrifices that families made during the war time period."
There will be a celebration in the care home today to mark the 75th VE Day anniversary.
