A CHARITY that has been working around the clock to rescue animals during the coronavirus crisis is desperately trying to find a new base.
Volunteers at the Oxfordshire Wildlife Charity have rescued around 100 wild animals in the last week after calls from police officers and worried residents.
Yesterday the team were called out to a duckling that had lost its mum and a hedgehog that no back leg.
At the weekend volunteers also raced to a paralysed deer at the Kassam Stadium but it needed to be put down.
Another deer also needed rescuing after getting caught up in a small car crash.

Charity head Luke Waclawek said they were called at 3am by police officers and were on the scene within 40 minutes. He added: "We got called out by the police and it just needed an overnight stay to recover from its ordeal – the aim of the game is really to get the animal back out to where it needs to be."
Now, to continue its vital work, the charity needs a new base in or around the Didcot area.
As it is, the charity work from a private estate in Wantage but the rental contract is expiring in six weeks and they want to take the opportunity to move closer to volunteers in Didcot.
