North Oxfordshire MP Victoria Prentis managed to speak with a number of community support services this past week to find out how they are helping people during the coronavirus outbreak.
Ms Prentis caught up with the North Oxfordshire & South Northants branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), Bicester Community Fridge and the Bicester Food Bank.

Following her visits, Ms Prentis said:“We are extremely fortunate in north Oxfordshire that our strong sense of community and togetherness predates the coronavirus outbreak and continues to prevail today.
“The outpouring of good will from businesses and local people has helped ensure many of our volunteer organisations have a good range of resources to help those in need.
"The CAB has delivered over 700 food parcels while Bicester Food Bank has distributed over 500 packages. Through their hard work, the vulnerable are able to remain shielded and safe.
“At the same time, the local Co-ops and village shops have been a lifeline for so many, especially those who may not be close to a large supermarket. My own family has relied on our local Co-op in Deddington. Co-op has been enormously generous, gifting the Bicester Food Bank with £500 to spend in store.

"As we all adapt to the changes to everyday life, I think we are all valuing these services more than ever."
Ms Prentis thanks volunteers and individuls for all their hard work in helping others during the lockdown.
She added: “I want to thank the brilliant, positive and enthusiastic individuals, most of whom are volunteers, that I have met this week. A special thank you to the CAB for helping to alleviate a lot of uncertainty constituents may be facing during this time.
"The selfless hard work of such individuals is important to so many families and we cannot thank you enough.”
