WHETHER it was a run, walk or even hop people across Oxfordshire have followed in Captain Tom Moore's footsteps to raise money for the county's hospitals.
The day of fundraising took place on Sunday, which would have been the the London Marathon, which each year raises more than £20,000 for Oxfordshire's hospitals.
Though the run has been postponed until October, Oxford Hospitals Charity urged people to walk, hop, run or jog two miles on their own, make a £3 donation and then nominate six friends or family to take part as well.
Lots of people shared their efforts with the charity on social media for the 2.6 challenge, which was also part of a national effort to help charities who would miss out due to the London Marathon being delayed.
Joe Baker, from Oxford Hospitals Charity, said: “A great big thank you to all those who ran, walked, jogged, hopped and skipped two miles in support of their local hospitals.
"We have been inspired by the many reasons that our supporters have taken part in the 2.6 challenge, wanting to say thank you to the dedicated and hardworking NHS teams.”
He added: “It’s still not too late to get involved and support Oxford Hospitals Charity to make a difference across the John Radcliffe, Churchill Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Horton General Hospital and Oxford Children’s Hospital.”
