THE driver of a car involved in a head-on crash on the A40 near Burford has been released on bail.
The 44-year-old driver of a Chrysler, who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, has been released on bail till Sunday, February 17, 2008.
A 28-year-old woman driving a Peugeot which was involved in the crash on Friday night was said last night to be in a "critical but stable" condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The red Peugeot and black Chrysler were involved in the crash shortly before 9pm near Burford. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch.
A police spokesman said that the woman, who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, was still fighting for her life.
Police said the Chrysler was carrying three people all of whom escaped with minor injuries.
