A woman driving a car involved in a head-on crash on the A40 on Friday night was today in a "critical but stable" condition at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital.
A red Peugeot and black Chrysler were involved in the crash shortly before 9pm in Burford. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch.
A police spokesman told the Oxford Mail this morning the woman, who was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, was still fighting for her life.
Police are investigating whether the Chrysler - which was carrying three people - was overtaking a truck prior to the collision. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
